For those of you who speak two languages, what are the distinct ways that they two languages express ideas differently? Which language do you like the most for listening to music? Why?
Well, I speak English but I know some spanish, and the main difference i noticed was the sentence structure. In eglisg we say adj. before noun, but in spanish they say noun b4 adj.
EX. english- The red shirt Spanish- The shirt red- La camisa roja
The distinct ways that both spanish and english express ideas differently is through the different topics that the music in both cover. In spanish music, immigration is a huge topic while in english, hip-hop to be exact, drugs and violence is a popular topic. I like spanish for listening to music most because there is always a genre a can connect to.
music in general always cover a big issue but i notice that here the main topic of music is money girl(in a negative connotation)and clothes that's why i like to listen to music in french because the cover the major issue and most important issue of our society which politic, racism, love, etc...
the way my two language express ideas diffrently because in my country they sing about love and there countrys pride and how the people had Sacrificed for the people that are living with peace, but hear they sing mostly about money ,gold, girls ect.....
Since I speak and understand 2 languages I like to hear music in both ways but I actually prefer hearing music in Spanish because I feel like I can almost always connect to the music and Spanish music also talks about many thing like issue in the world or problems that you have already faced.
I think Spanish music talk about more important things than in English music maybe because we're still going through some rough times and in America things may seem bad but we may think that since its a free country everything will be okay. While others are sick, starving, or dying, in the english music they're singing about money, girls, and drugs.
I believe there is no difference in expressing ideas in differently language. I speak both english and spanish, and both portray the same theme they talk about. I prefer listening to both english and spanish because i understand what they are saying and what there trying to convey other people to do. I prefer both.
i will rather if listening song in my language because its easier for me to understand every peace of the song. if i listing in english or different language it might not be easier as my language
i know alittle spanish and some spanglish artist like daddy yankee have song that u could understand what he is saying. sometimes in spanish whatever the artist is trying to say they say it backward, but it is said in reverse in english.
there's really nothing different, it just sounds different, sane concept and same meaning i guess. it does not matter which language i listen to because each has its own unique style and i appreciate both
I speak english and spanish but i speak english in school and at home i speak only spanish. I only listen to spanish music because that the only music i listen at home because my family love music just as i do.
I speak spanish and english but for me to talk in english is fine but i feel more comfortable speaking in spanish because is my native language.
